I just fired up my new PSU and noticed that the fan is clearly louder than that in my retired Corsair HX520. I guess that the fan spins up in order to keep the PSU cool, but it's "loud" even when the system is in idle.
The system is not that power consuming, it's an overclocked Phenom II 965 (3.8Ghz @1.42v), and HD4870 512mb (stock clocks), 4GB DDR3 1066mhz and a MSI 790FX-UD70.
I ruined my warrantry while sleeving the PSU, so sending it back to Corsair is out of the question
. Is the loud fan noise normal for HX750?
Note: It's not loud as in unbearable, but it's not quiet either.
