I just installed a new 5.1 home theater system and receiver. Everything works well except the speakers emit an incredibly loud crackling noise sometimes when I start up the system after it's been off for awhile. The crackling stays at a constant volume even when I turn the volume down. When I turn the volume up, it increases the sound of the audio source underneath the crackling. After a few minutes, it goes away. I also recently noticed it can happen when viewing on demand movies through cable.
When the crackling happens, it somehow causes my tv to turn off as well, sometimes.
This only happens when the source is my cable box. I have an Apple TV and Playstation 3 which never have this issue. All sources connect to the receiver via HDMI cables. The receiver connects to the tv via HDMI as well.
I've already tried using a different set of speakers, so it must be either the receiver, tv, or source.
Anyone ever seen this issue?
