Loud bluetooth headphones?

Anyone have any experience with bluetooth headphones/headsets? I am looking for one to use while mowing the lawn, but I have a loud lawn mower, and I can't hear over the sound of the mower. I listen to audio books, so sound quality is not all that high on the list of requirements, only volume...

Anyone else have these sorts of issues?

I have a set of Motorola DJ BT headphones that work great for noise cancellation.

However, wrong forum.

I'm not complaining.

IIRC, there are some "pendant" style BT headphones where the pendant is the receiver and you can use pretty much any headphones with it. I always wanted to try one of those out. I too listen to audiobooks so I don't care about SQ. But between my Monoprice buds and my Moto cans, I'm all set.

It's not too bad just the one single strand 3.5mm cable. I stick it under my tshirt to keep it out of my way and never really notice it. If i don't tuck it then it snags on my controls and is quite annoying.

Take it from somebody who has tinnitus, you do NOT want to have something in your ear blasting noise loud enough to drown out a lawnmower. That's a recipe for damaging your hearing.

Noise-cancelling headphones are the way to go.

I have some bluetooth Kinivo headphones. I mow with them... They aren't noise cancelling and I can clearly hear my mower, but they're loud enough and comfortable with a $25 pricetag and about 6-8 hours of battery life. (USB charged)

They feel cheap, but sound great and are functional because they go over your ears and behind your head. I like them because they make me look like Princess Leia.

Here's the noise cancelling model for the same price:
