I need a utility to convert Word Pro documents into Word.
Word does not automatically convert them, and Word Pro software is not anywhere
to be found

You can get Lotus SmartSuite all over the web in OEM versions for under $30. Includes WordPro, 123, Approach, etc... Tons of copies on eBay! 9.8 is the latest.
. I use it as I really like Approach data base and 123 spreadsheet. And since almost any word processing program is gross overkill for my needs, WordPro is just dandy. I even use its tools to do my web site...
