So heres the story:
Two Dell Poweredge 2600's running win2k server (sp4). They run like champs
They both are burdened with lotus Domino 6.5, set up in a cluster for redundancy. both machine have Inoculate 7.0 running on them (CA Antivirus) . Long story short, the first mail server in the cluster (which does authentication (the craptastic Inotes web mail), has been filling up the AV's mail box to the point of choking the server, no mail in or out at least once a week for the past three weeks. I just got back to my office after shutting down the server, renaming the AV's email boxes (again) and starting it up (again).
The putz who is our *cough*Email Admin*cough seems to have ignored the fact that mail stopped going out at about 11am, and to make it even more fun gave himself half a day (he was gone by 12pm).
I've been tryin for the past 6 months to start a migration over to Exchange 2003, which ive been working with over that time period on a test box that ive blown up and recovered too many times to count, restored the Exchange server from tape backup and have it work like nothing ever happened. The higher-ups seem to think that exchange is still the mail server of death, meanwhile 95% of the viruses/worms/spam/trojans that are introdeuced into our network come FROM EMAIL because this prick refuses to set up even simple DNS blacklists, has Notes/Inotes running over unsecured channels, cleartext logins, pretty much anything that COULD be secured ISNT..
How the hell can I convince them to move away from Lotus Bloats, and bring in Exchange? I'm dying here
