Wow. They make this MR2 engine seem like the best thing ever.

It something that light, it is 😛 And it's actually the engine from the Celica GTS. The one in the MR-2 was seriously detuned (or it could have been in a different family altogether, IDK)

The thing is with the Exige, is the ride (obviously) is uncomprimised. It is for compitition and going around around corners real quick, thats why it has a 1.06g 300ft skidpad. But CD says its a car you can drive day to day without getting bored of. If you have ever sat in one, then you know you must be shorter than 5'9" otherwise you are too big and wont really be comfertable (you head will hit the ceiling). It better get good mpg because its using an old version of the civic (or some Jap car) engine pushing out 190hp, which they modified. The best thing about the car is that it can compete with a C6 vette at any race track and win for the same price. I know some of you will say the Z06 is a better car so that is not included because of the extra $20k.

The one in the Celica GTS is the 1.8l 2ZZGE - the newest MR2 uses the 1ZZFE, also found in the Celica GT, Matrix XR, and Corolla (with the exception of the Corolla XRS, which uses a 2ZZGE as well).

The 2ZZGE is a far cry from a Civic engine..

Wow, look at those options. $1,790 for a LSD? $250 to remove the AC?

And for the record, MR2 used the 1ZZ, Lotus is 2ZZ.

Meh, the original ppl importing Elises were using B18's which are variants of B16's that were used in some Civics.

The only Exige I've seen in person had a supercharged K20 from an RSX. 333hp = OH SH!T!
