Lots of "ZERO Ping" Servers in BF2?

When I refresh the server list in BF2, like 33% of the servers in the list have a ping of 0.

Anyone else have that problem? What's the deal?

Yeah, I get that too. But I ignore it since I see plenty with pings of 60 or lower. Those could just be games that people setup to play by themselves, i.e. to learn to fly or something. That's my guess.

I dunno but it's annoying, especially since that server list is so slow and buggy. You can't just slide the slider!

yeah i really hope they fix the server menu..its VERY LAGGY.


But yeah i get those too. I tried to get onto one and i have like 100 ping...so i assume they are servers that timed out for some reason when it refreshed

I honestly think when EA "tested" or "focus grouped" the game, the got them all into a room with one local server. Otherwise, they would have noticed the sh!tty server browser and fixed it!

Yea, what's up with EA and making the buggy as hell multiplayer server selections? They had problems with BF1 too. You'd think the jackasses would learn something from people like Valve who make a fantastic interface.

Yeah, I think the BF1942/BFV/BF2 series has the worst GUI of any game I've ever played.

Yep I have the problem too, most servers have a ping of 999 or 0 then there are a few in the middle with 200 ms to 30 ms for me.

Yeah, I get that too.

They need min & max ping filters, a "buddies" system, and "favorites" system for servers, and they need to make the scroll wheel work! :|

Some of my favorite servers were "blacklisted". I can still get to them via IP connect but they aren't anywhere near full.

I'm tired of the server interface locking up at times though. I have to keep hitting ESC until I finally get a response.

Yes absolutely ridiculous that the server browser is such a POS. Hopefully the Eye will support BF2 soon. If they don't fix it by retail release I won't buy it. I have only had two semesters of programming, but gd how hard can the browser be compared to everything else that goes into a game?

Anyway, unless they fix things and I hear lots of praise on the full, their demo put me off from buying it. Before I was ready to buy it the day it came out...
