Lots of problems where to begin from...

Hi
i would like to share some problems i m having with my pc
1 my modem is not working symptoms------ retarts the moment i try to connect it to internet
2 So i thought why not install windows Xp that might help but even that didnt work coz it restarts itself while processing and saving files after xp installation
Well i have used all possible good anti virus softwares to detect viruses but nothing comes up....

What do you mean you decided to install windows XP??

Did you have win98 or something?

Did you format your computer before installing windows XP?

Well.... i have pentium 933mhz
128mb ram
motherboard VIA
Well i guess i have found a way about this problem but i m worried about my modem why does my computer restart when i try to connect it to internet

I'm not sure why it's crashing when you try to connect to the net, maybe it's causing an extremely bad error when the port for the modem is opened.

PROBABLY A DAMAGED MODEM. OR MOBO.

Plus your modem might not work in WINDOWS XP if it's not compatible.

Simple thing to do is just blame the problem on your ISP, get pissed ans show them whats up. Tell them your paying for net and not getting it. and they'll run you through some crap to try and fix it.
