Lots of Heat

I have my computer in my bedroom, winter is awesome but summer is brutal. The damn machine heats up the entire room. I believe system temp is around 95-100F. If I was to say get a water cooling system, I know it would drop the temp of the system, but isn't that heat going to be transferred to my room anyway?

Yes, the heat will be transferred to the room (as I learned it in physics class). But you have to look at it this way:
The room has more medium (air) to heat up than the air inside your system. Water cooling is the best way to "conductively" move the heat to the outside of the system than "convectively" fanning it out. If you are in a 77F room, then 77F should be the target ambient temp inside your system.

Kevin, don't forget to factor in you monitor, if you have a CRT like I do, it creates a lot of heat as well; I hope this helps a bit 🙂

Besides the silence aspect of water cooling, its also cheaper in the long run. We keep changing CPU's every 2 or so years and all you really have to buy at that time would be the $20 CPU block. You get to still use the $100 radiator, reservoir, etc.

Beats replacing the $30 heatsink and $10 fan that is specific to the type of CPU/motherboard when its time to upgrade.

Nope, I've had a 17" LCD for a while now. 🙂

I've got a hundred fans in there that probably just circulate hot air. I haven't really been keeping up with technology as my interest has shifted to modding my car as opposed to my computer. I have a Vantec Aeroflow cooling the CPU (2500 Barton). Its an aluminum chieftec dragon, with side window thats useless to me. There are 4 Panaflos, 2 in the back, 1 on the side and 1 in the front. They are positioned to suck and blow.

I'm guessing if I get the system temp down, it should help keep my room somewhat cool when the central air is on. I'm probably going to go with http://www.xoxide.com/kwcoolingsys.html since it fits my budget. I only found 1 review and it seemed pretty good. The others seem nice, but $200+ is a set of lowering springs for my car or a MAF customizer... 😉
