It's a conspiracy by the women's movement. They're planning to take over the world and this is only the first step.

but yea. I know there are plenty of deoderant commercials. But my thinking is, when I'm near a girl and they smell really nice, you just go, wow, and you want to get a little closer to them. The thing is they aren't wearing any perfume half the time it's just shampoo. ON the same note, when I wear a new cologne or something, sometimes a girl will compliment and say, you smell really great what is that? and get a little closer. The thing is, I don't like wearing cologne all the time, cuz you'll be smelling yourself. So I figured, if girls can smell nice with just their shampoo, why can't guys do the same? Get a simple 2-1 Male marketed shampoo or something that has a nice scent, and bickitey bam your done. And I guess that's how Axe markets their stuff.
Colognes or perfumes are so PERSONAL. What one person LOVES will turn OFF another.

There is no universal "good smell" unless you like sweat.

Umm, I thought Palmolive was dish washing detergent. I can see using it to wash dishes, or wash your car, or maybe handwash delicate clothing... but you use it on your body??

How come there's like 50 commercials advertising all types of feminine hygiene products from shampoo to soaps all geared towards women yet there aren't any Male brand products of the same accord. I mean the market is definately there. I mean, do we really want to use women's shampoo like Pantene Pro-V and smell like a women? No. I believe they even had a commercial advertising this. Talk about inequality. Take a good look at "Axe" for example. They took the market by storm by catering to the Male crowd, and they built up their niche market, so much that competing brands Old Spice and others had to create their own body spray. And when I found out Old Spice came out with their own body wash, I bought like 4 bottles immediately and dropped the sweet smelling feminine stuff I was using. So My question is, What male branded products are out there for us guys to use? I know there is Old Spice body wash which I use and Suave for Men Shampoo and Conditioner which I use as well. Although Suave did start out as a female brand. I think Axe or Old Spice should come out with a full line of bath products.

My question to you is: Why are you so consumed in beautifying yourself? (Men, as in homosapiens, not homosexual, don't usually concern themselves with this kinda shiets!)
EDIT: Shampoo > two in one (anything)
Soap > whatever is there.

I use active bodywash, american crew shampoo/conditioner, bedhead manipulator, gap cologne, and sometimes kiwi axe.
None of these have been brought to my attention via marketing... either recommendation or trial and error.

You start your observation saying there are no targeted ads for men. Then, 2 or 3 sentences later you use one such non-existant ad for illustration purposes. That seems fairly odd.

There are plenty of products targeted to men. You probably just don't notice them as much. Deoderant, shampoos, AXE, underwear, etc... Granted, there's probably more for women, but women are more impulse buyers and are probably easier targets. They also probably do more of the shopping in a household environment, so they are better targets.

Axe or Old Spice? WTF? I dont' know where you live, but everybody around here hates Axe. And Old Spice? LOL isn't that for like geriatic people?

I've never used sweet smelling feminine stuff unless it was the only stuff available (like at my gf)... if i want masculine bodywash, i go to the department store and pick some up. I've tried Polo Sport, CK Truth for Men, DKNY, etc. I don't know why you're having such a hard time finding them. I'm sure pharmacies or grocery stores carries more 'sporty' stuff like Gillette bodywash and such.

Suave has a whole line of new products for men. Shampoo, conditioner, gel, etc.

My favorite is Bath & Body Works' shaving products. They have this aftershave gel ($5.00/tube) that comes in 4 different scents (all of them are pretty good), and it totally ELIMINATES razor burn. I've never seen anything that works as well as this stuff! They have soap, shaving gel, and body sprays in matching scents. The only bad think is they usually put these products at the end of the store, so you have to wander through all the girly things before you get to the manly stuff. Just don't let the guys see you go in :)

I was about to add the new Suave for men line. I got some and it is good. Does not smell like fruit or anything weird. That and it is sold at a very good price

Doh. I"m a geriatic person. I know of the polospor/ck/dkny stuff, and normally those are expensive. I'm talking normal $3 a bottle stuff you find at a walmart. And I'm just saying, and Someone's gotta agree with me on this. This is such a money maker for whatever company can step up to the plate. Market a line of men's bath products towards guy just like how the "Axe Effect" marketing campaign does it, and you can make a killing.

How can you say "everyone hates Axe"...there's like 10 different scents! A few of them are actually pretty good. I like Tsunami myself. I get compliments in the elevator when I wear it :)
