Maurice Wolin, a prominent Doctor was busted!

http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/msnbc/Compo...tl_predator_lookahead_060929.widec.jpg

Maurice Wolin is 48 years old, married and a prominent San Francisco physician. It?s hard to believe that someone of his stature would show up to meet a girl who said she was 13 and then follow her into the backyard where she invites him to go in her hot tub.

Wolin (on the phone with his wife): ?Honey, I?m in big trouble, I?ll explain. You have to bail me out of Sonoma county jail. $30,000 check. It was a sting operation, ill explain it to you later. Don?t bring the girls. I need you so badly just come? I didn?t do anything, but I did something stupid.?

huh, the bail is actually not that big. The charges must be relatively minor.

The excuse the one indian guy gave was hilarious.

Indian guy: "It was at a party, someone logged into my computer, it wasn't me"

Chris Hansen: "there were a series of conversations over a few days. so the party lasted a few days?"

Indian Guy: "Well..."

LOL, yea and my whole thing was well if someone else was using your computer, then wtf are you doing here.

I love that show not just because you get to see sick bastards busted, but you actually get to see the human pshyche at work in a stressful situation. It is kinda interesting how different people react. It is actually a great show to watch if you are into observing human behavior.

I have watched every show they have put out and only one time did I feel slightly sorry for anyone and that was the big Asian (?) guy in the white shirt who was in the military.

He actually took full responsiblity for what he did. He seemed truly regretful not just because he was caught, but because he knew what he did was wrong.

Funny thing is, half the guys busted are married. Imagine the wife seeing the husband on TV.

I would think she would find out long before the episode aired...

What they didn't show:

Wife: "OMG are you ok? What's going on hon? I want to know now."

Wolin: "I can't explain but the good news is I'm gonna be famous and on TV!!"

I don't see it shocking when a lot of guys caught have well paid jobs and generally a good quality of life. It's like "I have a lot of things... wouldn't it be exciting to get something forbidden?"

Hell, a lot of rich people are like that. They have all the money in the world and then they go do stupid stuff like shoplifting or do drugs.

Oh well, more perverts off the street.

my personal favorite of the dateline episodes was the one where they had a house in like the middle of rural arkansas, just to see how far some guys would come.

A Couple of the guys drove like 6-8 hours to come get busted

The stupidest one has to be the one that got busted TWICE by the Dateline sting. How stupid can you be? I guess it's not that serious of a crime if he's out on the street again

I really don't know why so many of you find it shocking that well-off people do that kind've sh!t. Haven't most of you been in chat rooms? How many people from Dubai or Qatar do you see? A lot. :p

I'm in no way supporting the actions of these people, but.. it is very, very difficult for any animal to go against instinct.

Humans included. Even though we can more readily ignore tendancies than most, sex is a very basic drive. It's more or less what we were designed for. It is only our society that has said it is taboo to look at younger children like that. In many other societies of today and milennia past, it was not that way.

You could probably say that thinking of pre-teens in a sexual nature is abnormal, and some wires were most likely crossed in upbringing there.. it does not support reproduction. However, I would be willing to bet that there are those that argue that wanting women in the 13-17 age range is normal.

Our society is funny.

Anyway, the point of my opening statement was that wealth does not supress instinct.

He might just have a lot of money. As much as we want to see people like this stir in jail-cells, it's a win-win situation from government if these guys pay bail. They don't have to hold him and they get a nice chunk of change.

Social cost however, who knows, but that's never important anymore it seems. :p

Just saw this episode on USA. It was kind of amusing to see all the guys that were caught change their stories once they were interrogated by the office.
One Indian guy kept on saying, "I'm a computer engineer" like that would clear him up.
I wonder how they know who's who. I mean how do the Dateline folks know whos showing up and match him to the chat records. I'm sure not all the perps sent their photos over.

at berkeley, the indian reddy family that owned all the apartments got convicted for smuggling in young prostitutes. it was pretty sad because it wasn't just the guy, by the whole family of wife, aunts, uncles.

http://www.dianarussell.com/oob.html

Many of the passersby are critical of Reddy and have voiced comments like, "He's a scumbag, and I'd never eat at his restaurant!" or, "I don't eat there anymore." "It's such a pity because I loved their food." A young East Indian passerby told me that his reaction to the Reddy case was "shock and dismay that someone of his standing with his responsibilities would do such a thing" (i.e., traffic in young girls). "It's a blemish on our community," he added. "In India, this sort of thing happens all the time-because of poverty and past practices :Q," he continued, "but I don't know any Indians here who support Reddy's behavior."

Damn the city where he got the girls from (vijayawada) is the city that I was born in. Lived there till I was about 11 years old.

Sometimes I just can't believe what people will do for the money.
