Tried to get midnight tickets but it was sold out.

they had it showing in like 10 screens at a local 24 screen multiplex.

i don't think they sold out but the parking lot was half full.

Its the only four hour experience I know of that feels like it passed too quickly (no, I've never had sex for four hours straight 🙁)

battle scenes were AMAZING! OMG i was on the edge of my seat on all the fight scenes.

The last 20-30 min of hobbit love was a little too fruity for me.

Finally an ending to a trilogy done right. This installment was everything it was hyped to be, easily the best out of the series. Battle scenes are second to none, no movie to date comes close to the epic scenes. Only negatives would be the extremely long ending and homo-erotic hobbit love action at the end. Also, I thought Sarauman comes back in the end and tries to destroy the shire?

I felt the same way. The whole thing was awesome but the editing at the end had a terrible stop and go feeling. Better editing would've made the ending waaaaaay better. I was also amazed by the whole Shelob scene. Made my freaking skin crawl. Overall great movie, I hope it wins the Oscar for Best Picture.

Can't believe it's over. 🙁

LMAO:Q

I got home at 4am, and left for work at 5:30am. It was definitely worth it! Great movie, and yeah, the end was strange.

I'll be living off of Mt Dew and a couple power naps today.

Everything I expected it to be. I didn't mind the ending as that's part of the story.

I don't think the "intention" of the hobbit ending is the homo-erotic at all. It's just how they are---deeply caring simple creatures. If those were humans acting that way, then yes, it would have been very homo-erotic.

And it's not "OVER" yet. It won't be over till next TG when the EE DVD Comes out and we can see what jewels were left out 🙂
I know for a fact that the death of Saruman is left out--I read that in a PJ interview somewhere.

Just purely amazed. Peter Jackson was born to make these movies.

And I'll even go a little further and say that one of the two leading Hobbits will get an oscar nod. For me, viewing the three movies as one----it's the best movie I've ever seen. I can't imagine ever looking forward to another movie release like I did this one, and it living up to every bit of my expectations, save a few scenes I was hoping were going to be in.

(Aragorn revealing his identity to Sauron, death of Sauruman, orcs at the shire when they return-- to name a few)
And, on a personal note, I wanted more Staff-bad-assness from Gandalf. 🙂
