I purchased the Return of King from Target yesterday for $14.98 which seemed to be a good price considering it was the first day of the release. But, I almost overlooked the free offers which turn this into a hot deal.

There is a small coupon on the front of the DVD case that can be used for $5 off on a Duracell 10 pak of AA alkalines and a "free" carton (8 paks or less) of Act II microwave popcorn. With the batteries being $5, the only cost to me was the sales tax. I figure between the value of the batteries and popcorn, my net on DVD was around $10.

If you are interested, you need to jump on it now because the offers expire on 5/30. Enjoy!

Are those 'extras' a Target thing only? Wally world (Walmart) has the DVD for $14.87, but I don't know if any extras come with it.

I was in Walmart this afternoon and saw the same offer...but did not see that Walmart carries the Duracell 10 pak which is specified in the offer. BTW, the movie was only $14.28 @Walmart in Sanford, FL. Also, not all of the DVD packs had the refund coupon. The freebies need to be purchased at the same time as the movie.

Checked out my local Walmart, but it had no "special offer" stickers on the movie. Just the plain DVD for $14.87. So I walked next door to the local Target and got the combo deal. Was going to wait for the EE, but now I can find out how the movie ends. Yeah!! Good dealie.

But then you cannot watch the theatrical release.

Personally I buy all three sets. Theatrical release, Extended, and Special Edition Extended

But, i'm a fan.

I got mine at target. Not all the discs have the coupons on them for the popcorn and batteries..

When the EE version comes out, I buy that one also. I send in the $5 rebate and give the the discs to my brothers kids.

Only three sets?...of the three movies?

What about the Limited Special Collector Edition? or the Non-US Relase containing footage not shown in the US..... Hehehe... just pullingyer leg of course.

This is pretty important, I mean this has got to be one of the best deals ever for a new released DVD of this caliber.

A regular priced 6 pack of popcorn and a 10 pack of Duracell batteries at my local grocery store would set me back $12 + tx , so basically for the price of a rental at Blockbuster I get to own the film....what a deal!
