All I have to say is that ROTK was, as kami put it, ridiculous. I don't think there's a word that can describe how good this movie was. I thought it was simply going to be like FOTR or TTT with a different story line, quality animation, etc. etc. Not only was ROTK the best movie I've seen this year and a lock for best picture, it's the best movie I've seen in years, and possibly the best movie I've ever seen.

There's really no point in going into any more detail, you'll just have to see this wonderful movie for yourselves.

That is all. :)

And for the record, I thought the FOTR and TTT were very good movies that simply didn?t have endings with enough closure (well duh) and therefore weren?t really 100% fulfilling. ROTK is just the opposite.

And then waiting for the full-three-pak of the movies to come out, and then the extended-three-movie-set, and then the Deluxe three-movies-and-a-baby set, and then the Academy Award Winner set, and then the Documentary of the Making of the Academy Award Winner set, etc.

For some of us LOTR never ends :D .

Well said.

Someone just added a non-fresh review, bringing the average down 3% to 97. It'll even out again soon....Within a week there will be 100+ reviews there.

Well, I just read the non-fresh review and he gives it a perfect score (4 stars) and a glowing review. Must be a mistake by RT. FIX IT NOW!!! Put it back to 100% :D

I thought it was impossible for a DTS film to be any longer than this one, without an intermission?

201 minutes, and the longest of the three. The others (in theater) were 178 and 179 minutes.

I was going to go catch a matinee showing of it on the 17th. Then I got the flu and my rescheduled final is on the 17th at 2:00. :( Gotta be at work by 4:30 so I won't see it until the 18th. :(

Well, one more bump before i head off to see Trilogy Tuesday.

For those not convinced, Rotten Tomatoes is approaching 50 reviews and its still 100% and 9.5/10. ;)

I felt a nerdrenaline rush while watching it drinking milk and eating gummi bears (gummi warms scare me).

Two Thumbs up, way up.

It was AIGHT. it wasn't great. well the first 3 hours was, but the last 30 minutes was really boring. the shire without that final battle really was kind of boring.

i realize they had time constraints, but still i really wanted to see that final battle.

I just got back. From watching it in Harlem. And walking back to my dorm from Harlem.

Anyway, to the movie. After the battle at Minas Tirith, I thought it went downhill after that. The end of the movie took forever... and getting the ring into the lava was so anti-climactic. Well anyway, the entire trilogy together probably (to me) is the best movie ever made.
