Decent deal. I'm hoping my local Blockbuster will have this as a rental so I can see the additional scenes.
I thought this was too long already especially some of the Frodo, Sam and Gollum scenes were not necessary. Of course I will probably want to own it, but you get all that extra junk in the extended box set for ~ $80.

That was annoying because the MIR required the original UPC code which meant we had to cut it from the box. This one doesn't require any rebates, so deal looks good.

It is the 14th of December. They moved it back on this one given the additional material over even the other extended editions. There was also hints about bringing all 3 back to the theaters this season AS extended editions, but haven't heard any more on that. You'd have to be pretty diehard to go to a theatre for over 11 hours.

I wanted to order mine but it shows up at $29 in the cart, but only $19 at the product description screen.

After applying the discount it shows up at $25.49.

Is it showing up as $19.99 in your cart.
