Hey all

Due to a kinda recent highly rushed move (yey for messy breakups >_<) I've somehow misplaced the power brick for my HTPC which is a Zotac ION-ITX-A was wondering what my options were for replacing it..as I know basically nothing about swapping stuff in like that... I know the old one was apparently 19V and 90watts....that's all I know >_< I'm assuming if I don't use one basically exactly the same it risks damaging things?

Also if anyone knows where I could get something like that at a decent price in Australia that'd be fantastic...but just info on what I'm looking for/if I have any leeway in terms of specs would be really handy

Thanx all ^_^

You can probably use a universal notebook brick. You need to match the voltage and the plug polarity. Wattage can be higher. If wattage is lower, as long as your power draw doesn't exceed maximum of the brick, it should be fine. If you are using one 2.5" HDD with it, you'll probably be maxing out at under 50W, maybe idling around 30W.

Thanx for the responce :)

kk I'll look into a notebook brick (stupid question since this is probably the one area of computers I know *nothing* about, what's plug polarity?)

The wattage should be fine being lower in that case since I'm running basically nothing extra on the MB...there's no HD no optical drive no PCI cards just CPU/MB/RAM and the 1 fan it came with (oh and a USB stick for the OS) so it should draw sweet f/a power (which was obviously the point in using that setup in the first place ^_^)

thanx again for the responce ^_^

Polarity is +/-. The plug probably looks like a cylinder, where the center is one and the surrounding part is another. You need to find which is which, positive or ground. The universal adapter should let you switch it. If you can't figure it out, LMK and I'll dig mine out (I've got one of those boards).

Thanx heaps for your help

I don't know the polarity but I'm going to borrow a multimeter off my dad so that'll tell me. Don't like the idea of buying a new power brick now that I've seen the cost >_< but once I know what I need I may well be able to find a friend who has an unused spare lying around from an old dead laptop or something so can figure something out ^_^

BTW is anyone interested in buying this off me? It is brand new/unused and I'm willing to sell cheap. :p
