Lost Xbox 360 DVD Drive Key

I've got a dying Lite-on 83850c drive that I am attempting to replace with a new one. The drive had been previously been flashed with ixtreme lt 1.1, not by me, although I can flash systems. Anyway I plugged the dying drive into the computer and popped open jungleflasher, it goes into vendor mode fine and shows up in jf but when I try to intro/read the device it fails. In jf the drive properties it says no dvd key. Im aware that with no dvd key you are pretty much F'd. I also tried using Dosflash's liteon dvd key thing, and it ultimately failed. It did save some .bin files that I opened with a hex viewer, to see if i could find anything in them and I came across this entry "4447 2D31 3644 3253 2XXX 2XXX 2XXX 2XXX | DG-16D2S." Each of the last four sets all being the same. Could that be the key I need?! The only other method I've saw is soldering or some sort of xtractor. Any help is appreciated! I dont want to buy another xbox lol

There might be 1 or 2 people that could tell you here, but the best place to ask would probably be the forums over at maxconsole.

your key is in your hacked firmware.

when you 'read firmware' in jungleflasher, it shows your key in the tab where you load up the new fw and stuff and you can copy/paste it.

when i try to "read it" or intro/device it fails with like a 0x51 status or something like that i believe it is, so i dont get to see the key

Your only hope is to get the key off of the drive. If you cannot, then your xbox will never be able to play games off the dvd drive again. I have used the jtag method to recover the drive key off of the nand on a few older xbox360s, but unless you have an old version of the dashboard, you are out of luck, as that flaw has been patched.

I can't remember the details, but the liteon 8xxx series drives require a different method to extract the key. What is wrong with the drive? If the key is good on the drive, you can just swap out the board with a drive that works and not mess with the key.
