Lost tomb of jesus is on tv now!!!!

is he moving around?

did he see his shadow? will there be 6 more weeks of winter?

Is he angry that so many people copied his name and look nothing like him?

It was ok. A few interesting bits but by and large I found it very boring and agreed with the roundtable guy after the show "Archeoporn".

...in the bible it says that his physical body rose to heaven.

:mind assplodes:

BTW, i did watch the whole thing. I liked it.

I wouldn't even call that a documentary. More like bad journalism. When doing something like archeology, let it tell its own story, dont go in there with your own theory and try to prove it by whatever means of evidence manipulation you can. They failed to follow up on a number of things that would have at least made the argument a valid one. If school kids were able to put holy texts in the tomb, I think that it would be very hard to say that anything you find in there is trustworthy enough to be a scientific fact. I do think they found the bone box of Sim barjonah, but as far as the rest of the documentary goes, I think it was poor journalism and to be presented as a likelihood is foolish. I completely agree with the guy in the discussion what said this puts a bad light on real archeology.

Here are some links on the BBC documentary "Jesus in Kashmir".

There are two things I don't like about this documentary -- (1) how it makes Jesus mundane, to the by saying things such as "if he really believed he was the messiah he would have gone to the east..." (People who believe him to have been a messiah don't think he was a man putting himself into a role, but in a manner of speaking, rather a role taking the form of a man.) (2) how it aggrandizes these findings, implying that if true they would destroy Christianity, etc.. (While these might understandably disturb many Christians, I believe that a belief in the Christ can be consistent with this view of aftermath of the crucifixion.)

I disagree with (1) and (2) and yet am more inclined to believe the other parts of this documentary than the newly found "Lost tomb of Jesus". These would of course further invalidate the "lost tomb".

Too bad it has already been discredited by real archaeologists.

i don't see how the video was discredited by archaeologists at all in this article.. it says that scholars and archaeologists are skeptical, but i would hope so.. that's their job.. to be skeptical until they have proof that something is true... all it says is that it can't possibly be the tomb of jesus cause christians believe jesus' physical body rose... umm... ok... i guess that proves it...

i'm not saying that i believe this show.. it was interesting... but it is just a film.. i don't consider it a documentary... maybe some things were lost in translation.. maybe it is some other jesus' tomb who had a father by the name of joseph and a mother by the name of maria and other relatives that link back to the bible.. they were popular names.. but who knows...
