Lost the password to my wireless network...

So I have a new computer but lost the paper where I had written down the password to access the wireless internet in my house. What's the easiest way to reset the password and all that. Is it going to be a so much of a hassle that I should just look harder for the password? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Passwords that are put on paper are usually more complicated. If you at least keep that password in a safe place, you would be at least 10x more secure then if you used a password that could be easily brute forced.

Just saying. Anyways, just reset your router and you should be fine. Probably use a hard reset.
 
Before you reset make sure that you know what the Router reset to (look at the manual).

Yeah, but my guess is that it is still at default settings for router...could be wrong though.
 
In most cases if its a newer ISP provided router the password is the serial number. Or you can look at the manual it will tell you the default settings for the device.
 
For home setups I always right username/passwords on the box they belong to with a sticky note. If someone has physical access to your gear you are in far worse shape then if someone got a hold of your password.

Yep
I have even started using a sharpie permanent marker and writing it on the bottom for family members.
