lost the Linux GUI

I installed linux and now everytime it boots, it goes to the console. How do I get the GUI back?

I am using Mandrake 8.2

And if you want to make it boot directly to the GUI of your choice you can edit runlevel in /etc/inittab. Currently you most likely have it set to 3 (boot to console). Changing it to 5 will boot automatically to GUI. As always man inittab is your friend.
