1. The world outside still exist....penny is looking for something {Desmond?}.

2. Charlie survives the explosion.

3. The button did need to be pushed to diffuse the electro-magnetic build up otherwise boom.

4. You can't escape the island even with a boat...at least desmond couldn't.

5. The others don't seem that fierce, they haven't really harmed anybody, in fact they are the ones that seem to get hurt.
 
yea i was wondering about #5. it hasnt been proven that the others have really harmed anybody. they just took people away. but its clear that atleast kate killed one of the others...and mr. eko killed a couple when he was attacked
 
4 isn't proven because Desmond never used the boat to get off the island, and Michael was told to go at a certain bearing (magnetic North relative to the island?) to get out, but he was told he couldn't find his way back if he did leave.

He told Locke that he should have been in fiji but somehow he ended up back to the Island.
 
I posted this in the other thread, but I'll mention it here in regards to number 4.

If the magnetic field around the island is strong enough and Desmond relied on the boat's compass to navigate away from the island, it's possible that the interference from the magnet prevented him from navigating successfully.

Didn't they at least threaten (can't remember if carried through) that they would sneak into camp and kill someone for every day that Claire wasn't returned?

With this in mind, and Fake henry giving Micheal a certain coordinate to follow... perhaps he will take himself to some point on the island still, but where these is a legitimate form of help.

Says to keep heading 325 degrees north and he will get rescued but he can never return to the island. This isn't a fact though because we do not know if he makes it home or not.
