Lost Tapes

So, i was watching Whale Wars, which in it's own is pretty pathetic, and after it was over this show called Lost Tapes cam on, which is like part fact, part fiction, and almost entirely stupid. It's like Blair Witch where they show footage regarding some sort of factual or fictional monster and make it out to be real. Is animal planet hurting for new shows? Can't they rip off Parking Wars or something?

oh man I watched an episode of Whale Wars, and anyone who is a sailor, or even works with vessels knows the captain has no idea what he's doing; and exploiting these impressionable youths to join in on a criminal activity.

Yes, I think it sucks that there's whaling going on, but to spend money to get these retards that don't know the proper usage of a large vessel and go on with piracy is stupid.
I currently on a research expedition on a US Navy research vessel, so I haven't seen TV in awhile. Everyone, even the pseudo-sailors/very respected scientists agree that the people in whale wars are rather pathetic. It's actually a good topic of comedy; and serious discussions has been shot around to use the show as training video on what NOT to do while at sea, hah.

Some things to note: No one wears is wearing immersion suits; especially in their so-called "Battles?" No one knows how to operate a winch. Safetly and strict US Coastguard regulations aren't even remotely followed. Acts of piracy, especially against your own human race, is just an act of terrorism plain and simple. I wish the Japanese Navy can just intervene and blow this ship out of the water. It's very expensive to keep an operating ship, and their actions do very little to prevent whatever whaling that takes place. That money is MUCH better spent on other things. Terrible show, terrible crew, and awesome comedy for us seagoers.
