Lost space

Ok, I was trying to install a game, and well I had a few failed attempts where my computer would lock up. I noticed afterwards that all the failed attempts took up 2 gigs of space, and well, I want them back. I could find a temp folder or anything with files relating to the game. I was wondering how can I get the space back. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm assuming windows xp? If that's the case the space is probably used by system restore and shouldnt be a concern.
