Okay i did a reinstall of XP Pro the other day. Every thing went goo through the install. One thing I noticed after it was all done, is that when I double click the icon to connect to the internet. I get some small program box or something that opens up. All it does is get in the way, it does not appear to do anything and I have to cancel it before it will connect. This I can live with as i will be getting broadband Friday. My main problem is that I just recentlly lost sound. I am not sure exactlly when it happened, I know it was some time today. I have a game theater XP with a set of headphones as well as my stereo connected to it.The cords all seem to be connected, I checked what sound things I could think of in windows, and it didn't look like anything was muted. I tried using the test option from the GTXP control program, and I still didn't hear anything. Anybody have any idea what could cause a loss in sound like that? I know I have done a few tweaks today, but none of them should have affected my sound. I did the regedit thing to get rid of the dog animation when you search for a file, and hes gone so i doubt it was that. I changed my page file form windows controlled to a set size of 1500MB, I ran some systemworks test, and everything it found wrong, it fixed. I thinkt hat is it, any help is appreciated, if you need more info ask.

Okay that was just confusing, I didn't let my brain comprehend what i learned and posted about in my last post, well I did after I posted, then i realized that it was prolly the balance, whcih it was, set all the way to the left, now I got sound. Now I want to know why I had no sound at first and then how did it get set all the way to the left?
