Lost Recovery Disks for HP 4430-What Do I Do???

Last year my son purchased a HP 4430 computer with Sony Triniton MultiScan 200 ES monitor. Through his moves from one city to another the recovery disks were lost. He is now having problems with his computer. A friend of mine just purchased a HP XT846 with recovery disks and will let me use them if they can be used on his computer. Does anyone know if the XT846 recovery disk will work on the 4430? If they work I will copy the 3 disks on my CD-RW for his use. His computer(4430)has Windows 98 and on the XT846 the system is Windows ME. Or does anyone out there have HP 4430 recovery disks that can be copied or for sale? Any help would be appreciated.

Wouldn't recommend it. Different models have specific hardware configurations and the rescue disks are set-up for those particular pieces. Try the HP site's page for that model to see if you can call support for replacement info.
