My sister got a business laptop a few months ago, but she forgot her login to get onto the computer. I've tried to do some research on the net, but I found a lot of places that say to use a complicated program to reset the password. Is there an easy way for someone that's not very computer literate? Any websites I should check out with step-by-step directions?

I believe if you boot into safe mode (F8) and then login as an administrator you can go into xp user accounts and change them.

Have you tried the administrator account, most are setup to not have anything as the password.

You can install over the OS, otherwise you have no choice but to use a boot CD password changer like the one at http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

It isn't complicated to use. Just boot from it and follow the menus to reset the admin password.
