Lost my XBOX power cable...where to get a replacement?

Well after looking through the house for about 3 weeks, i'm finally giving up and buying another cable. Where can I find one? the xbox website didn't have it.

If you have a Playstation 2 or Dreamcast the power cables from those will work on the Xbox. They maybe "keyed" so it won't fit, but I've taken a pocketknife and molded the plug so it fits into the back of the Xbox and had no problems using it.

Didn't see anything for sale on EBGames.com but maybe you could buy one at the store or just buy a PS2 one.

How did you lose your power cable ?

Thats the thing, I don't know. We do system link halo and i took my box over to a friends, but i'm 99% sure i brought it back and left it in the den. My family has a history of losing my stuff 🙂

Anybody know what that cylinder is near the XBox end of the cable? It's approx 1.5" long and maybe 1/2" in diameter. I noticed my Dreamcast doesn't have one of those but have still considered using the cable as I move my XBox back and forth frequently and have extra of all of the other cables....

thx i tried doing that now my xbox light flashes green and orange.

It uses a standard VCR power cable, easy enough to find.

And that cylinder thingy is a ferrite noise filter, is supposed to cut down on random electrical noise. Some computer cables will have it too.

don't you love it when things go from bad to worse 🙁 now i have to deal with returning this sumbitch...there goes all my pgr2 medals

Radio Shack, or look in the yellow pages for an electronics store that caters to the more elite electronics hobbiests and trades-people (where you're likely to get the best price). If you're OK with being raped on the price, I'm sure Best Buy could violate your wallet in exchange for a power cord. (I'm just guessing, but when they sell a $3 USB cord for $20 and a $6 set of KVM cables for $45, I'm thinking a $1 power cord should be about $10-12.)

Hey, I am just like all other upper management in the world: I sit on my arse and make the peons do all the work for peanuts while I collect ridiculous amounts of money.
