Ok, I was playing in the snow with my girlfriend and our neighbors yesterday after lunch.

Now, I had the wallet in my pocket, should've been safe and secure, but I guess not.

I didn't realize it was gone until this morning.

8-12 inches of soft snow on the ground, and its almost impossible to tell where it is.

Plan of Action:

The wallet has metal on it, a logo and and little bar (its a bill fold). I'm getting a metal detector from Big 5 Sports and I'm gonna find this bitch.

Anyone else have any "Dumbass" moments they wanna share so I don't feel like such a tool the rest of the day?

I saw snow for the first time this week.
I didn't really believe in it till that very moment.
It was amazing. For just a moment I felt like I was 6 again.

I once had my wallet stolen because I left it in an unlocked gym locker. I had just gotten a lock that day and had forgotten to put it on that day... <-dumbass moment

All you need is a jug of cherry syrup and a spoon and you've got an instant snowcone. Itll make finding ur wallet much more enjoyable.

I lost my keys out on the ice of a lake once playing broom ball after dark.

Had to come back the next day in the daylight to find them, and still took forever.

Winter can be a pain in the ass.

Yesterday, I included a "pause" statement in a computer startup script enforced by group policy... which of course caused Windows to hang on login for all clients attempting to run the script. Fortunately I had another session open to that server so I could fix the script before it affected anyone other than myself.

Been there. I was working overnight and we had had freezing rain/snow since the afternoon prior. I get in the car and start it up to get the heat going, grab the brush, get out and start wiping the slush off the car, and the driver door locks itself. Fucking electrical gremlins. Had to get my friend to swing by my house and bring me the extra key. The car was sitting the idling for like an hour and a half.

Not my moment but...

...friend took a good spill on one of the bowls at Copper Mountain. He lost his skis, and we absolutely could not find them in the 2 feet of fresh powder. He came away a very sad person that day.

I was at a gathering at a camp one Winter, and it was about -67F. A couple of geniuses that were along for the trip were standing on the frozen lake throwing pieces of firewood straight up into the air and letting them fall on the ice, as they were trying to break a hole in it. Not much danger due to the extremely cold temperature, but one of them didn't get out of the way quick enough when a piece came down and it split his scalp open.

I suppose that was actually a better result than him breaking open the surface of the ice that he was standing on. :p

I've spent 10+ minutes trying to find my keys only to realize I was holding them.
