I had a remote starter/alarm installed on our 2001 Camry by a local car stereo/alarm specialist. The batteries kept failing in all 3 controllers that we had, they'd last a month or so then would stop working. Anyhow, the shop said that the batch of batteries they were using were recalled due to similar complaints. The guy told me to bring down the 3 remotes and he'd swap in new batteries. So I go around and get the 3 remotes off the different keychains, put them *somewhere*, now I can't find them.
This really sucks, and I feel stupid going down to the repair place and telling them what I did, but I have no choice. Will they be able to get 3 replacement controllers without replacing the remote starter in the vehicle? I would think it's possible, but you never know. I'm sure it'll be a little expensive, but it was my own fault, I just hope the whole system doesn't need to be replaced?
