Lost my NEW job in less than 30 minutes

I applied for a full time position at a university. I was going to graduate from college in about a week, so I put down my date of graduation. I call them up a few days later to ask if they had time to look over my application. Now it's more like 2 days left till graduation. They tell me they can't review my application because I haven't graduated from college yet. I told them to wait two more days and then review it, if its such a huge problem. They say no, according to our rules, an application should be reviewed within 4 days of submission and rejected or forwarded. Since they can't forward my application, they will have to reject it!
