A new personal record.

I get hired. I goto work. I fill out some paperwork. They query my GPA out of the blue, then say "whoops, your GPA is too low for requirements".

Somehow I passed the application, interview without anyone asking for this. Arg, goodbye easy money. Good thing I didn't quit job #1 yet.

DUDE!!! That was just a test! They want to see how much of a risk taker you are. You gotta immediately support yourself with wry cunning and reverse the role!

I would never go that far without arguing a LOT. Firing you like 30 minutes after they hire you? I would laugh at their joke.

Instead, you walked out on a good job.

that is *so* stupid, and so typical of what I get from college recruiters ---- shows up for interview --- but you don't have any experience ----- well duh, did you *look* at my resume?

panasonic cancelled an on-site interview on me at the last minute because of my GPA. Pissed me off verily because it was clear that I was capable of doing the work. They stopped responding to my voicemails & emails after that too, which really pissed me off.

Aren't you glad you're not working for such a half-assed operation? BTW, did you get paid for the half hour? :p

I think it's funny (actually it's depressing) when you apply for a internship and they expect experience. Hmmm.... Let's think about that one for a minute. Why else would someone else want an internship?

I've had to deal with this for 3 years and counting.

<-- has next to no experience in the tech field but graduates in December... ...can't even get a tech support job paying $8 an hour, something a lot of have gotten almost straight out of high school

...6 credits away from graduation and still not qualified for a tech support job for a local ISP. At the moment, they have a another reason not to hire me. If I graduate in 6 months they are afraid I will leave as soon as I graduate. As of now, I am near terrified of graduating.

<-- wishes effort could be put on paper

Why didn't you try to gain experience during school? Internships, working for the school, volunteer work, etc.

There are few degrees where you can walk out with paper sans experience and still find a good position.
