Lost my keys :(

:|:|:| I lost my keys somewhere on the ride to campus this morning, I have them all on a lanyard, and someway the keys fell out of my pocket while riding my bike to campus. 🙁

I retraced my steps over and over but turned up nothing,

had my car key, house key, storage key on there too. Anyone know how much it cost to get new keys for a car? :|🙁

Depends on the age of the car, call a lock smith if its an older car.

Do you have a spare a copy can be made from?

Well I moved out here in the fall, I think I left a spare at home (4 hrs away) But I'm not sure 🙁

What if I don't?

Well then you have to replace the lock cylinders in the doors and ignition, which costs a fair amount. Can you have someone mail you the key? I would do that if at all possible. If you have the actual key, it's not that big a deal to get a copy made.

I have been trying to call my parents to find out about a spare, but no one is answering, I hate to come to terms with it but I am pretty sure we don't have a spare. 🙁

Just remember, what ever you lose will be found in the last place that you look.
I know the obvious remarks, so just let it go and smile.

I know, this is the reason that I am pissed off, because I know that as soon as a come home with a copy or get everything changed, I'll find the original. :|

A local dealership should be able to make you a new key, with proof of ownership and the VIN#

That sucks man... I locked my keys in the car once. Had to pay over $50 just to get some guy to stick a door stopper in the window and use a small u shaped tool to pull something. Took <5 seconds for him to do it. 😀
Business is business and I was the stupid guy who locked the keys in the car so it was all my fault.
I hope you find your keys or hopefully the remakes are cheap.
Would be good to keep spare keys in the future just incase you lost your primary or maybe a friend/family member needs to use the vehicle from time to time.

I drive a ford ranger, there is a ford dealership down the street from my house, I had thought about this.

Is it possible with older models, mine is a '97. Its worth a shot i guess, the other keys are nothing, the house key is one to a side door in a shared house, all I need to do is buy a new deadbolt.

That's dependent on the make/model/year though IIRC.

That's what I was gonna post. No need to change out lock cylinders, etc.

Yea, it was stupid of me to think that I would never need my spare, of course I had the right intentions, I didn't want to hold on to it becuase I was afraid I would loose it. 😱😀
