Yes, i am currently unemployed and happy as h*ll about it. I am currently looking for a new career. I sent multiple resumes everywhere, i'm just kicking back a few days and waiting for a call.

My previous job was ok, I did technical support for voicestream wireless, Voicestream cut back and the callcenter I was working for offered me a job SELLING Providian credit cards.... COLDCALLING people, I gave it the old college try for one day, but could not handle people flushing the toilet on me nor calling me every four letter word in the book. I told them to stick it, and and now i couldn't be happier. I forgot how much fun it is not having a job!!!! Guess thats until the bills come :(

i hear unemployment isnt so bad, you can kick back make $284/week for half a year, and do some side jobs to make some cash here and there.

Yeah I am still running my lame pc repair service, actually its not that lame. One does not believe how much a internet addicted, ho ho eating housewife will pay for you to drop everything and rush to her house and fix her machine. They are willing to do anything to keep their interruption from chat-land to a minimum!
I charge reasonable amounts though, i don't like to rip people off.

Unemployment sucks major ass, but each to his own. Once you've been out of work for 6.5 months you won't be so happy :)

I guess you'll prolly get a job before then though.

I would like an IT or helpdesk job, but the openings do not seem to be all that numerous in the greater Pittsburgh area. I could always work at staples, 20 hours a week, but I'd probably make more from unemployment.

Getting let go from my last job was the best thing that ever happened. I took a year off and when I went back to work in Sept 88 I have been with the same company ever since. I worked my up from a $9.00hr department manager to a very high 5 figure a year position as a Senior Buyer. It is simple I look out for the company buy makeing them money and they pay me well to do it.

This will work out for the best for you as well. :)

Seriously though, I had a bad feeling Voicestream was going to dump the callcenter i worked for, i had never seen anything so shabbily run before in my life... Voicestream is terrible anyway.
Customers ripped off and po'ed. Its amazing they keep any customers...
Listen to this story, bout 7 months ago two sisters got phones and went to college, they spent all their time, during class, between class ect ect ect... sending text messages back and forth....
well they get their bill and its like for $23,290

they called in quite unhappy. They found out that it cost them 25 cents for each text message sent, they had in actuallity sent near 100,000 messages. Its hard to believe but redicuously its true....
They had no choice but to pay, they claimed they didn't know but we had their contract and it was signed...
So much for college.

I got laid off back in May, and they paid me til July 9th. They told me I didn't have to be there, so that being said, I didn't go back! They also gave me all my unused vacation time as pay, plus a nice lump sum for my base salary times .05.

Then I started getting $400 a week for unemployement! This has been a great summer. No responsibiltiies, money for slacking.

AND NOW, I get to go back and work for the same company for MORE money next week. Life is good!
