It didnt have any personal information on it, but it did have some stuff on it that would make me feel a little werid if someone was reading it. Things such as all my school documents, etc.

If it is not returned to the lost and found later today, what do you think I should do?

Ignore it and get another flashdrive? (laylow)

Also- what should i do to prevent this in the future? encrpyt it?(what programs?)

EDIT: Some good person returned it to the table at the front of the room, and it was there today when I went in. I dont think it was tampered with (files deleated)

I will try truecrypt tonight..

Other than buying a new one, what else would you do? If you think you lost it somewhere, retrace your steps and look for it. If you think it was steolen, then report it and have friends keep their eyes open.

Next time password everything and you won't have to worry about it as much.

Pretty much what kelemvor said, not much you can do other than retrace your steps and look for it. If you can't find it go buy a new one and maybe put this one on your key ring or a lanyard or something.

in computer shopper, it said on your next flashdrive to put a document that says your name, and reward if found...

good luck in finding it.

Go get a new raincoat and get back out there! The drive will come back but you have to make an effort.

Buy a couple of $10 flash drives.

Take pictures of what you leave in the toilet for a few months.

Save pictures to the flash drives.

Leave flash drives at coffee shops.

See if you hear about your "art" being discussed on myspace.

That does nothing if the person who found it already copied all his data.
In fact, that only proves that the finder already stuck it in his PC and has already scanned through the drive.

The point of recovering the drive is not to recover the data, but to prevent others from using the data.
