I get an error message that I lost my Fat32. I cannot access either of my CDRoms and the system only recognizes one partition in my WD 20Gig HD. The C drive seems OK. This happened about three weeks after I added the large secondary drive. Any ideas?

Thanks!

hmm, losing fat32 sounds like it's bad stuff... never run across that problem. Stupid question though, have you checked your structure of IDE chains for errors or jumper errors? If you take out the larger drive and put everything back to as it was, do you still have the same problems? Aside from that i would say it's time to re-partition and format. Hopefully someone can provide you a better solution though

Thanks, yes I checked all jumpers--took everything out and reset. I just upgraded so this will be a backup, but I have to get it running again first. I have heard that there have been some problems with the WD large drives. This unit is just a 300MH pentium II, with an AIW 8mg video card, DVD and CD-rw drives, and a 6 gig main drive. I would like to spice it up a little and take it to a relative to replace their 486 (maybe even earlier) and get them on the internet.
So anyway, if I have to format and start over, not a big deal--I have a recent backup....I just can't find my original Photoshop 5.5 disks! I thought I would network to it and try to steal the program from it, but was a little worried about the problem somehow crossing over to my new setup. I would hate to have it be some sort of weird new virus.....Thanks for the imput.

One make sure the BIOS assignments of each drive does not conflict (ie both set as being the master).
If that messes up, the autodetection sequence won't go through correct i think and wont recognize the cd drives (which come after) either.
