This sucks, my cell phone has been missing for the last few days, but I just figured it was under some stuff on my desk.... NOPE. I've looked everywhere, so I'm guessing it fell out of my pocket somewhere. So that means, I either tell my cell company that it was stolen and they charge me for the rest of my contract, or I take my chances that no one will make a $1000 worth of long distance calls on it. DAMMIT!

Anyone recommend a good place to get a digital cell phone (Had a Nokia 5125) without paying for a contract?

Buy one at best buy. I think you can buy any phone without the plan. You should call your cell phone and see if someone picks up

have you ever called your cell phone???

if you hear it ringin you could follow the sound.... or if someone stole it and answered it.. you could be like "hey biotch... why you have my phone?"

First thing you need to do is call your phone. You might find it ringing in the dirty cloths pile or down the headboard. If someone answers, they might be waiting to give it back to you. (I assume you already did this.) Then call the phone company and tell that you lost it. They will suspend your service so nobody can use it. Don't worry. They will happily sell you a new phone for your plan.

Tried that... the problem is that I remember the last time I used it it was on one power bar, so I turned it off!

I'm going to keep trying to call it and see if anyone picks up, if yes.... well... I'll see if I can talk them into returning it for a reward, if not I'll call and have the phone reported as stolen and account disabled.

Either way, if I don't find it, I'll be out another ~$75 or so for the contract OR out whatever a new phone costs PLUS the fee for the new contract.

There might be an activation charge for them to click a few keys and assign your number to a new phone, but you don't need to renew your contract.

Anyway, that sucks. I dropped my cell phone in a taxi once. I called it and the driver answered and then brought it to me, so I gave him $20.
