lost inet connection

from time to time i loose my connection to the network without any apparent reasoin.. i go through another linuxbox wich is online without interuption but my winbox gets disconnected from the ned for about 20 seconds now and then, mostly when i play gfxintensive games.. anyone got a clue what this could come form ?
 
Try connecting directly. If it works, then you know its your linux box. I had the same problem sometimes with my router in games, DROVE ME NUTS. So I got a new router.
 
my linuxbox staysonline coz i got ppl connected to it from the outside.. however i tried to connect my winbox directly and it worked.. so it must either be my swithc, linux nic, or linux software for that nic that is screwed up.. thnx for thetip
 
Hmm, well, that makes things interesting. Do you know if other people are having the same problem? Maybe you have too much traffic, too many users going through the linux box?
 
i tried it now with the switch only, worked fine, then i swapped the nic in the linux to an identical one, d-link dfe-530tx, and now everything works.. it was the bloody networkcard 🙁
 
I had the same problem; I figured out that my network was renewing my ip automatically about every week. I set it to never renew and that solved the problem.
