I am over here studying abroad in Milan Italy. I have been here for about 2 months and have been trying to run a website using the machine I am typing on right now....basically a piece of crap presario 700Z that overheats at any attempt to update my site or manipulate my photography I have been taking.
Becuase compaq has been messing around with my service I have decided to purchase a new machine in the $1700 to $2200 range. I really dont know enough about mobile systems to feel comfortable with making a decision so I look to my fellow nerds here at anandtech for help. What machines should I look at? I know the alienware area-51M is good, but it is a little out of my price range. I need something pretty speedy with a real ability to play games. 64 megs of video memeory is a must. I'm sure you all know more than me so let the tips come! :)

As for studying abroad, everyone should do it. It's a really great experience, although not always easy. It really opens your eyes to a lot of things we take for granted back home, and helps you to understand why the rest of the world really doesnt like America. They have their reasons :) Thanks for all the help.

BTW.... you can check out my website at www.stevesineurope.com it hasnt been updated lately due to heating problems though.

Thanks for your comment about the pics....I love photography, which is why I am willing to go to such lengths to get a decent computer that will work with my photo-editing without crashing.
