Hi.
Well, after unsuccessful attempt to install Windows XP, I realised that my old HDD somehow lost ability to boot.
There were 2 HDD. One new, not formatted, at primary master. Second one was old one, win98 was installed, it was at secondalry slave.
Well, after a few unsuccessful attempt, I realised that the system can't boot from old drive, which was strange becaue I could do that before trying to install win xp on new drive. So.. I somehow lost files on old drive..How should I go about to recover this?
I installed win98 on new hdd and took out the old drive from box.
I need the files on old because there are personal datas. 🙁 Help me...please..

Not too sure if I'm following you...

So you've got Windows 98 up and running on your new drive without problems?

The startup files are deleted/lost on your old drive but your personal files are still there? If that is the case you should be able to put the old hard drive back in as a slave and the drive will appear under Windows as an extra drive when you bootup with the new drive. Just copy what you need from the old drive over to the new.
