I personally like the character driven episodes, like this one, when we see things from Jin's perspective. And Sawyer kicks ass yet again!

Also, I've seen Daniel Kim in other things, and he speaks excellent english, and I suspect that he's an American speaking Korean, which maybe why some of you think his Korean is so aweful.

And I'm glad Hurley's discman finally ran out of batteries. That was kinda getting on my nerves, considering how much he uses it.

from IMDB

he was born in S.Korea

He holds an M.F.A. from the Graduate Acting program at New York University.

His family moved to Pennsylvania when he was two years old.

Well that makes sense. Korean is probably his second language.

my assumption was that he accepted the job from the dad to deliver the watches, but invited the wife to come along with the plan of not returning from america.

He won a lottery of some sort.

There's huge talk of this on the various Lost forums out there.

he won the lottery or he was arrested? a previous post here said:
"Hugo Reyes convicted of Money Laundering and Malicious cyber crimes. Sentenced to 15 years."

or was he arrested for fixing the lottery?

what other lost forums do you recommend?

Anybody else notice that when Jin was dragged onto the beach and Michael and Jack were arguing we see a closeup of Jin's ear. However, the sounds that they were arguing in were not in English. It sounded like Korean (but what do I know? I'm not Korean). Can anybody verify this or watch that scene again to see what you think?

<sigh>

Hurley was NOT busted for cyber crimes. His episode is called "Numbers" - and he was featured on the little Korean girl's TV. Take that for what you will.

I noticed that too. I don't know Korean either, but what I'm thinking is that maybe Jin is starting to understand what they're trying to say. Since, to me, it sounded as if Michael and Jack were speaking his language. It seems as if, Jin will start to try to speak English, now that him and Sun are broken up. At the end Jin tells Michael "boat" and gives him some bamboo to help him make a new boat.

I think they were just trying to show what Jin goes through whenever anybody around him speaks English - it's just a bunch of jibberish to him, as his Korean is jibberish to anybody.

Also, Daniel Dae Kim's English has a VERY American accent - his work on 24 proves that. 🙂
