Episode 14 tonight brings about the following:

Violence ensues and a mysterious island beast makes a re-appearance when Michael and Locke clash over Walt's upbringing. Meanwhile, Charlie is tempted to read the missing Claire's diary, and Sayid enlists Shannon to help decipher the French woman's map.

# NOTE: A Walt/Michael-centric episode. The polar bears make a reappearance. The beast still has not made a real appearance. At least, it appears that it was just a hallucination to Boone.

How do they make those accidents look so real ?

Ow. That had to hurt. I should slow that down to see if the actor hinted that it was coming.

That was like the 1st or 2nd episode. Remember he couldn't read it, he just looked at the pictures. They just showed him again reading the comics in this episode (AFTER Locke suggests he has "potential") and one of the panels showed a polar bear.

what... so the kid is behind everything that's happened on the island ? Is that what they are inferring ? I haven't been paying attention 100%.

I'm not sure if I like this plot device. I mean, why doesn't the kid just visualize the Grand Princess or a helicopter and then they're all saved...

Maybe she's been to the "black rock"??? Didn't look very pregnant if you ask me.

What happened during the last couple minutes after Walt and his dad were looking at the pictures? (Phone call, I missed last minutes, TiVo started recording West Wing. Arghhh!)

Switches over to Locke and Boone, who are looking for Vincent. Lockes blowing a whistle to find the dog. They hear some leaves rattling, Locke gets out his knife, and theres a LOT of tension. Claire comes out of the bushes, looking beat up and confused, and it looks like she isn't pregnant anymore. It ends with Boone saying "Claire?"

Now that I think about it, I can't remember if it was Boone or Charlie that was there.

Thanks! I hate it that they go over the hour, which plays havoc with my TiVo scheduling. Tonight's episode was 3 minutes over the hour. Sometimes it's only 1 minute.

But it's a wonderful techno world when my son in VA can call me (in FL) on his cell phone from his car, ask me to go online and check the Hampton Roads interstate webcams to see if the traffic jams caused by earlier snowfall had cleared out on the route he was driving so he'd know if he could get home without a lot of trouble. :)

when they showed the kid with the polar bear in the comic book...I knew he was the one causing all the werid stuff...

although .... why don't they just have the kid imagine a raft?

Also, does the dad have pictures of his mom? what if the kid saw them?

i refuse to believe that the kid is behind this all and that he has some kind of psychic ability..... they were HUGELY hinting at the fact that he conjured the polar bear, however, ominously showing the comic book page about 4,000 times and playing creepy music when it was burning in the fire.

I'm still waiting for Hurley's (fat kid) story!!!! I wonder if they get into why he is so fat and if there's something more to it than just overeating.

Anywho.... Kate looks better and better with each episode... she truly has a kicking body.

I can't believe they went an entire episode without furthering the story of that chamber trap-door doohickey. There are a lot of questions yet to be answered.

Anyone know how many more episodes are left in the season? They seem to be running out of time for things to get wrapped up. They've been on that island a loooooooooong time.

I thought I saw something that looked like an underground city on one of the panels of the comic book, and remember the ailen looking thing in the lab/hospital bed?

If they don't have some serious closure by the end of the season, I'm going to quit watching it, I can't stand the x-files kind of plots where stuff is quasi-resolved all the time:(

Did you ever watch Alias (also a J.J. Abrams show)? I haven't seen it until this season, but I've got a friend who's a huge fan. He says that it's quite common for Abrams to bring up a plot device, then just drop it for several episodes. We probably won't find anything out about the door this season I'm afraid.
