Lost Cool and Quiet after installing X2

I just got my X2 3600+ installed today and immediately got it to 2.8 GHz without any issues...however, while it is stable, Cool and Quiet appears to have been disabled. I set it to "enabled" in the BIOS and installed the ACPI Multiprocessor drivers. AMD's site doesn't seem to have a dual core C&Q driver for windows, so what's going on here?

My power management is set to "minimal power management" btw, which should have enabled Cool and Quiet.

I suggest using RMClock anyways; it's much better than Cool 'n' Quiet (which is a great feature in its own right).

Setting up the program might take 10-15 minutes of tinkering, but the result is that you have complete control over your CPUs idle/load states. The best feature is that you can lower the voltage for any P-state (fancy term for the various CPU power states). For example, the default idle state for my Opteron is 1GHz @ ~1V Vcore. Using RMClock, I dropped the voltage at idle down to .875V, which reduced temperatures and power consumption dramatically. I also dropped the VCore at full load down .1V from default.

I use RMClock on my laptop too, for maximum battery life. Since my laptop is mainly an office/internet app machine, whenever it's running on batteries, I have RMClock drop and hold the CPU at 600MHz @ .7V Vcore (disabling the higher P-states). That improves my battery life by roughly 20%.

Actually, the file that is next to the bottom on that page is the dual-core driver. The file that enables Cool & Quiet is the very top file on that same page, called the Dual Core Optimizer.

Ahh thanks...seems like I did forget to install the driver and only installed the optimizer...

Now for some serious OCing
