Lost check

My girlfriend wrote me a check today, and like a moron I've lost it already. What bad can come of this? What are the odds of something bad happening? We've already stopped payment on the check, but she's worried about fraud. I'm trying to tell her it'll be okay, but I'm not sure myself. Has anyone had experience with this before? Please give me some good news!

If she stopped payment on that number, you won't have to worry about the check. However, if someone whose into counterfeiting and ripping people off basically has her routing and account numbers and can do whatever he wants with it

if you already put a stop payment on it you are fine. Even if you hadnt, chances are you would be ok.

I had one of my check's stolen by a person who came to my house with a friend of mine. He wrote the check out to himself (dumbass) and cashed it at the bank. When I noticed the money missing I reported it to the bank. They went through their tapes, found the guy cashing the check, and pressed charges. They put the money back in my account as soon as I filed a police report.

People lose checks all the time. If you put a stop payment on the check, there is nothing a person can do with it. And as far as account numbers and routing numbers.....routing numbers can be attained by anyone. People throw their reciepts from bank transactions out all the time in public places.
