I have a portable usb storage thingy:p But I lost the cap that covers the usb connector. Would I risk any harm to it or my data if I put it in my pocket with my keys and cell phone? WHat comes to mind for me is that in a pocket you can build a static charge and if a charge builds up in the usb connector then it could potentially damage my data. Any thoughts?

I also wonder if Lexar would be kind enough to send me a new one (just the cap of course)?

should be fine. Mine was thrown into the wet stuff on the bottom of school trash barrels without the cap and survived...

I "THINK" I saw one of these thumb drives advertised on ..bay that was missing the cap (same brand if I recall) and they had a link to a page that sold the caps for something like 5 for a dollar. You might try checking recently closed items there to find the link ... but I think it was simply to the Lexar site. B
