My hardriving was running full and when I checked the total space used it said 45GB. When I check individual folders, it came up to 25GB. I ran windows disk clean up and now all my DATA is GONE!!! HELP!! Anyway to recover this?

There are two new folders now. "Recycler" and "increnator"

Yeah.... never run ANY program from microsoft that supposedly fixes a disk

Same thing happened to me. When I turned on my computer, windows said it wanted to check my disks for consistency, against my own judgement, I let it go, and it deleted my whole 200gb drive.

At least, the good thing is some of your data is still there. You just need a program to recover it. I was able to recover a good amount of the files that sh!tty windows deleted.

"Windows disk clean up" just sounds bad. Are your files in the "Recycler" or "increnator" folders? (I know, obvious question.)

Can you return to a previous restore point?
Maybe this does not work with personal data files but only with system files.

Do you have another system you could put this hard drive into as a slave? You could then install one of the data recovery programs listed below on the good system to recover files from the failed drive. Or you could install windows temporarily on a spare hard drive, hook your failed drive up as a slave, and recover your data this way.

I recommend one of the Data Recovery Programs such as GetDataBack, R-Studio, or TestDisk; or a Rescue Disk such as UBCD4Win.

==============================
It would be good to shut down the system or disconnecting the hard drive so further use does not further damage the hard drive.

Alternatively, you may obtain the manufacturer's diagnostic utility to test the hard drive and see if any errors are discovered.

Data Recovery Programs
1) R-Studio
2) Runtime's GetDataBack
3) Ontrack's Easy Recovery Pro
4) Quetek
5) File Scavenger
6) HDD Regenerator
7) TestDisk

Hard Drive Freezer Technique
This technique is useful due to thermal contraction of mechanical parts
1) Place drive in an anti-static bag
2) Put drive in freezer for at least one hour
3) Remove drive from freezer
4) Quickly install in system
5) Attempt data recovery

If bios does not recognize hard drive, then reboot and try again until that one time the drive is recognized. If this does not work, put drive in another system and hope the bios of the other system detects the drive.

since you have a LAN don't you just back up everything? Hard drives are so cheap now there's no reason not to have a 2nd drive (internal or external) to backup your data.
