Lost Administrator password for WinXP Pro...

I tried a utility but it didn't fix it. Any tried and true tools to recover (or replace) this?

There are password crackers on many linux boot cds like Knoppix STD.

I've used "Offline NT Password" (search in Yahoo!) several times on Windows NT, Windows 2k and Windows XP, and it works flawlessly. The directions are kinda long, but once you do it once, you should have no problems using it again. I always remove the Adminstrator (or user) password instead of changing it, to assure of no problems. Give it a try and nothing else works for you.

I will try that. None of the above worked. 🙁

Actually that's the same thing as one of the above. Is WinXP SP2 somehow protected against these now? I have effectively changed the password twice and saved the SAM file but still no go.
