Ugh. Just my daily rant. I bought a key drive last week and started copying stuff to it. Nothing too important, but somehow yesterday I lost it. I've looked everywhere and can't find it. The worst thing is that the key drive is one of those small thinkgeek ones that can never be found.

just trying to help

I know, I just felt like being a smart ass to give people some laughs ;( Sorry if I offended you.

In all seriousness, I have looked everywhere and can't find the thing. It was a reallllly small one so I doubt I'll ever find it.

i just found a 512meg one in the couch. i don't remember buying it and it has my files on it. shrug

wish they had these back when i was in college. i lost a research paper i had a floppy. in between the computer room and the class room it deleted itself (back then you turned in the disk and the proff checked it)

Anyway, continuing on... any other recommendations? I've looked everywhere.

Look where you think you left it again.

I put one in a drawer after getting back from a business trip. I looked everywhere for it, thought I might have left it on the airplane, looked everywhere again, and then freaked out.

A week later I was looking for something else and opened the drawer and there it was, tiled on its side against the front of the drawer.

I've checked things twice. Looked all over work, checked my bag numerous times, and my pockets.

I'm *pretty sure* the only thing I had copied to it was the ubuntu 10.10 ISO. If that is indeed the case, then the worst case scenario is I lost $25. However, I may have copied the documents for my new company to it as well (I can't remember), and if that's the case my social security number would be in plain view.
