i was trying to reinstall windows on my other 74gb harddrive when i accidently selected "delete partition" and "create partition" on my 400gb hdd.

now when i bootup in windows, the 400gb is a "raw" hdd now and when i try to open the hdd, it asks me to reformat the hdd.

what can do i to retrieve my 400gb of data?

please help!!!

Gonna have to use a data recovery tool.

GetDataBack works well for me.

Google it.

Just dont install anything on the 400gig drive, get windows running on your other HD and run the recovery tool from there.

It's going to take a long ass time to recover that big of a hard drive by the way, prepare to leave it overnight or longer.

Oh my that'd make me cry 🙁

Good luck with recovery!

Oh, BTW, if you hope to recover all your data, you will need another HDD at least 400 GB to throw the recovered data onto.

I am sorry to hear. I did this with a 20gig hard drive. Bottom line is that I do not recommend working with your computer really late at night. This is when many undesirable things happen like, "delete partition"!
