What are the best settings to use when benchmarking with 3dmark 2001?

Texture format, Z-buffer depth, do I turn AA on or off ? Frame buffer?

I just experienced a 4,000 point dropoff in a benchmark and I am not quite sure what happened.

For all fairness in benchmarking purposes, the default settings are what I think would be best and the most accurate if you wanna compare your score to a comparable system's...
 
Use the default settings with 3DMark2001 and make sure to turn off AA in your video card's settings. Once you do that, you get a lot more marks back.
