Because I guess his job was complete on the island, I think Jack will leave next, but not by dying.

Next episode looks good, but what does fall season finale mean? Is the show stopping until after the first of the year?
Season 3 began airing in the United States and Canada on October 4, 2006 and will feature 23 episodes delivered in two blocks: an initial autumn arc of six episodes and a second run of seventeen consecutive episodes beginning on February 7, 2007

Did anybody notice that every time somebody on the island fixes their problem(s) they die?
I was just going to post that!

Didn't the writers say there was a scientific explanation for everything on the island...including the black smoke? If so, I can't wait to see how they explain what happened to Ecko.

Didn't you hear the chain noises? The smoke could simply be produced by the machine. If there were outlets for the smoke along the chain/machine, you wouldn't actually see th machine.
And remember, it is part of the islands security device. Mr Patch face could be the one controllign the security system...

I heard the chain type noises as well. But in any case, how the hell would a machine move that fast? Not only did it all of the sudden come up on Ecko but it got away real fast.

i watched it on ABC.com this morning as i worked last night.
anyway, lost is no different in length for scheduled programming without commercials 43 minutes as any of the other ABC shows. you guys are just nuts that keep going on and on about length of commercials etc.
