Because I guess his job was complete on the island, I think Jack will leave next, but not by dying.

Didn't the writers say there was a scientific explanation for everything on the island...including the black smoke? If so, I can't wait to see how they explain what happened to Ecko.

Eko couldn't have said "You're next" or "We're next" to Locke. I wonder what he really said.

Sorry Eko. :(

OMG @ the preview for next week!!!!

Next episode looks good, but what does fall season finale mean? Is the show stopping until after the first of the year?

Yea.

From the Wikipedia entry-

Season 3 began airing in the United States and Canada on October 4, 2006 and will feature 23 episodes delivered in two blocks: an initial autumn arc of six episodes and a second run of seventeen consecutive episodes beginning on February 7, 2007

What he said. They will airing another new show in the time slot that occupies LOST and then start over in the next year.

It's getting better. At hte start of hte season, the show was unwatchable. Now it's only irritating near the end of the show. It's bearable though.

Didn't you hear the chain noises? The smoke could simply be produced by the machine. If there were outlets for the smoke along the chain/machine, you wouldn't actually see th machine.

And remember, it is part of the islands security device. Mr Patch face could be the one controllign the security system...

Alright, I'm no botanist, but were those poppy plants that Ecko was talking to his brother amongst?

I heard the chain type noises as well. But in any case, how the hell would a machine move that fast? Not only did it all of the sudden come up on Ecko but it got away real fast.

And how does the machine manifest itself as his brother, and communicate with him?

Great episode

Everyone says this yet it makes no sense. Because if you go download the torrent, you will see it's 43 minutes long, just like every single TV show there is that runs now (Grey's Anatomy, 24, etc.) and all 3 seasons of Lost have roughly the same length episodes.

Thus, what the hell are you guys talking about?

The red flower ones? I believe they were some kind of bromeliad.

I'm confused now about who his brother was really.

The three bloodied men that first appeared in Eko's vision (when the spear narrowly missed his head) were the three that he killed with a machete in the church. One had no arm, which was the one that he hacked off. Anyone that was affected by Eko's actions had come to remind him of those actions and an ultimate penalty to be paid for them, including his brother. I believe it was his brother, but not in a literal sense of a person from this world, rather a spirit in an afterlife telling a sibling that their punishment would lead them elsewhere.

I think that the show is just so good that the 43 minutes go by so fast and you notice the 17 minutes of commercials. If it was a boring show, you probobly wouldn't think there were so many commercials.
